Here are the key measurements and dimensions you need to know: Distance from the front of the pitching rubber to the back point of home plate: 46 feet. Pitching mound height: 6 inches for younger players below the age of 11; 8 inches for older players 11-13 years old.
When kids reach 13u (a.k.a. 13 years old), they typically move onto a 60×90 baseball field with a permanent mound.
11U/12U pitch at 46 feet and the bases are at 60 feet. At Walker, it’s the closest base pegs (of three) and the closest pitching rubber. (Please note there is sometimes a third pitching rubber that is temporary for AA games in which case 46 feet would be the middle rubber).
Effective January 1, 2020, USSSA, a governing body for youth baseball, will adopt a rule requiring that all players 13u players must swing a bat with no lighter than a drop-8 length-to-weight ratio and 14u players must swing a bat no lighter than a drop-5.
14u Games are 1 hour 45 minutes. 11-13u Games are 1 hour 40 minutes. 9-10u Games are 1 hour 30 minutes; 6-8u games are 70 minutes. No inning can start after the time limit.
Ages 12 through 13 (7th grade)
Players in this age bracket start out playing at 12u in spring and transition into 13u in fall (if fall baseball is available). As players hit the 13 year old ark, most leagues start to transition players onto “big” fields (a.k.a. 60/90 or MLB regulation sized fields).
90 feet is also the distance from first to second base, second to third base, and third base to home plate, so the distance between each of the four bases is identical. Between each base, the straight line or shortest distance from one base to the next is known as the baseline.
The back tip of home plate must be 127 feet, 3 and 3/8 inches away from second base. The other bases must be 15-inch squares that are between 3 and 5 inches thick, covered by white canvas or rubber and filled with soft material.
13 And 14-Year-Olds
An average fastball from this age range is anywhere from 55 mph (on the low side) to 75 mph. A pitcher throwing 75 mph is better than most people for this age, and their fastball is at a high school quality. An average changeup for this age is approximately around the 50-60 mph mark.
Players who turn 14 prior to May 1 of the current season are not eligible unless they are in the 7th grade. Also, any player turning 15 prior to August 1 will not be eligible. Players who are 13u are eligible for this division regardless of their grade.
For the 13u/14u division, BBCOR is also permitted and sometimes used by the bigger players.
All players in the 2022 Little League World Series must be no older than 12 and no younger than 10.

Head first slide – All age levels: Is NOW allowed at 13u - 18u in NVTBL.
Headfirst slides are only permitted when retreating to a base. If a player headfirst slides attempting to advance into a base, they will be called out. A runner will be called out if he or she attempts to leap over a fielder making a tag. This is considered an unsafe act.
Equipment: Metal cleats cannot be worn for divisions 12U and younger. Metal spikes may be worn in divisions 13U and older.
